Patriots' Day means today's Red Sox game starts in about 10 minutes.

Unfortunately there is no Loyalists' Day where we drink tea and toast the Queen.

A's are the worst defensive team in baseball. Didn't see that coming. Hopefully it doesn't last.

So far this season Chris Devenski has faced 38 batters and has struck out 21 of them with 1 walk and 1 run allowed on a solo homerun. One of those strike outs was of Mike Trout on 3 nasty pitches. Dude is money.

Also 5 wins in a row.

Rockies shortstop Trevor Story, who homered 20 times in the first few months last season, is hitting .114/.250/.264/.514 so far. No HR, and 20Ks in 44 AB.,

    Oops. 1 HR, 2 RBI

CB Bucknor was pretty generous with his strike calls tonight:

    But wait! It gets worse!

He ruled this pitch, which was with 2 strikes and 2 outs in the 9th, a foul ball...but still ruled the game was over:

Here's the video from Glovey's post

As far as I know, & what I don't know in this town ain't worth knowing, the cops haven't closed any of your dives
& the D.A. hasn't touched any of your rackets. You haven't bought any license to kill bookies, & today I ain't sellin' any.
So take your flunky and dangle.

Altuve on third. Wild ass pitch that was so wild bounced hard off the backstop right back to home. Out. 40% of the Astros outs have come on the bases. That's not official but feels right.

Keuchel solid. Did give up a run on a double followed by a seeing eye single.

Clayton Kershaw threw a hissy fit because the Rockies starter took a few extra warmup tosses and was walking down the line as the first inning was starting.

    What a dbag.

Well, Kershaw was set to throw the first pitch when they opened the gate and took their sweet time walking to the dugout. Seems reasonable to be annoyed by that.

Yeah. There's common decency expected between starting pitchers. When you're on the road you either get to the dugout as the home team takes the field or you jog.
