Okay, here's my question. I have a 10 week old and a 4 year old. The oldest is very big for his age, he was 45 pounds at his appt in Feb. Well, in the spring and summer we do lots of activities where we walk a lot. We walk to the park and the pool and places that a 4 year old generally can't walk the whole way. Last summer we used an umbrella stroller but this year I need something for both kids. So I bought one of those Joovy double strollers with the back bench so the big kid can sit or stand. But I just read that the weight limit for the back is 45 pounds. Fuck.

My question is, at what point do kids not use strollers anymore? What do you guys do with your 4 and 5 year olds when you're walking around all day?

My three year old doesn't really use a stroller much anymore. Looks kinda funny when she gets in there. But I think she still does if like my wife takes her to the zoo for the day.

id bet youre probably close enough to just go ahead and let him sit/stand on that thing through the summer. maybe by the end of summer he will give up on wanting to ride anyway.

i got in a few strollers to test them out. they can hold more than they recommend.

My five year old will still get on the back of the sit n' stand stroller if we are at the zoo or walking long distances.
    However he is only 42lbs.

I think you are just going to have to tell your son to suck it up.
I'm sure that platform is fine up to 50lbs.

We should put this thread in a corner.

There's no problem with doing that is there?

    Not really.
Parenting comes later, when your kids become assholes.
    Whole other thread.

Cheezy won't use a certain type of deodorant because she's scared it's going to give her cancer. No way she's going above a recommended weight limit on something like that.

Oh, I totally would if it works. But the reviews said when you put a lot of weight on it the stroller gets tippy and hard to maneuver.

Maybe if you started the parenting right away when they're babies they wouldn't be as big of assholes.
