    Default St. Louis Blues vs L A Kings 9:00pm GDT - W Quarterfinals - Game 4 - Growth

The St. Louis Blues find themselves up 2 games to 1 in their playoff series vs the L A Kings. While this may seem good, it is at best neutral. In truth, while better than being down the Blues with normal offensive pressure could be up 3 - 0. Water under the bridge. We are at the stage where we must improve to move on. Growth is lacking in most individual adults. Somehow after high school and college we consider ourselves finished.

Not so, we must always be looking to improve. To get better. To do some things that we haven't done before. Or to do some things that we have done before in different situations. We must do both to win game 4. Winning game 4 will require the defense to remain stellar and the offense to become normal. That will be all the growth we need to take a real lead in the playoffs vs the Kings.

Tonight we show the Kings we are students of the game and students of the playoffs. The chess match requires our move to adjust our pieces. We can do this.

    Lets Go Blues.

You guys don't want to talk about hockey, you just want to jack each other off. The mildest statements that the Blues might not just sweep onward to glory are treated as pure distilled arrogance by people like MMouse here, and you know, my evaluation is that a lot of you people are just plain assholes. Don't really care about how you evaluate that statement, either. Call it a meltdown if you like, I think it's finally waking the fuck up.

Argh. Tarasenko splitting reps with Cracknell on the 4th line. Has to be a smoke screen right?

    I'm super nervous for them.

I think the Blues have looked great for the majority of this series and I know that it looks like they are still in control... but at the same time... it's the Blues.

THE BLUES. Hard to get too excited.

    Nope. Tarasenko in for Cracknell.

    Don't like it.

Don't like that decision. Then again, he went off in the playoffs in the KHL playing on the 4th line - yes, I know it's different over there.

Tank for Cracknell? Have to trust Hitch on this one, I guess. I don't see the logic of taking out a banger and leaving in the soft, ineffective McDonald.

The game is on FSMW? And the Cardinals have an off day? I might actually get to see the whole game.

I'm glad to see Tarasenko get a chance. He can't hurt the PP, can he?

Don't know what the point of putting Tarasenko on the 4th line is, but it was probably always going to be Cracknell or Schwartz, and Schwartz has certainly earned his ice time.

McDonald certainly has not been as bad as kvetched about around here. Always dubious when a new whipping boy is annointed. This just in -- McDonald is not big and can get knocked off the puck!
A bit of a shakedown artist, not above the occasional grift. But you'd understand that.
All in all, not a bad guy, if looks, brains and personality don't count.

    You better hope they don't.

I'm a big McDonald fan, but he just hasn't been effective this year. If you're gonna bench a guy for Tarasenko against the Kings it should be the little guy.

My best guess would be the desire to put as much offensive talent in the lineup as possible given our woes.
