Thread: I think I'm getting sick

I felt fine last night at my gig - no worries. Throat felt fine, no runny nose, no congestion. I kept knocking back vodka tonics and Maker's Mark and ended up getting home around 2:00am.

I woke up this morning and just felt like a bowl of ass. I have a sore throat and am really congested - I think that I somehow ended up with that cold that is going around crippling people.

I love NyQuil (because it makes me feel really intoxicated), but is there anything stronger out there that could help me shake this thing faster?

Oh, and OTC, please. I don't have benefits at work yet (those bastards), therefore, no prescription co-pay.

what's that jack daniels and honey recipe that people talk about sometimes? I have never had that though.

I take alka seltzer cold medicine and go to bed. If I have to work then I don't take anythign and I just try to make it through the day.

most medicine stuff for anything makes me drowsy...even ibuprofin.

it's too late for one of those vitamin sucker things.

I like the fact that the two responses in this thread have involved alcohol. That sounds like some sort of magic elixir!

oh and wear your rattiest clothes and shuffle when you walk around the house. mismatched socks are a must.

whine a lot if you live with people. that seems to have a sort of therapeutic effect.

    Solid.

    Any other hints/tips?

If not, I'm going to the grocery store to get my cold drunk and have it pass out.
